Royal Mail 4th April 2011 Rate Change   

Royal Mail and Parcelforce Worldwide have announced changes to their Postal Rates to come into force from 4th April 2011. Most services will be affected by this change, particularly First and Second Class:

As a franking machine user, the discounts you benefit from remain really strong with a number of services exempt from VAT.

Summary of Discounts for Franking Machine Customers

  • Save 20p on every 1st class large letter
  • Save 14p on every 2nd class large letter
  • Save 7p on every 1st class letter
  • Save 8p on every 2nd class letter

  • All Parcelforce Inland Express Services (including the addition of a 2kg weight band)

The value of Postage paid indicated by the Franking Mark on any letter must conform to the applicable rate and in order to comply with the HMRC VAT rules you must update the rates on your franking machine by 4th April 2011.
