The Mailstream Monitor is a stand-alone solution for checking the document integrity mailpieces exiting from a mailing machine. A discrete code is printed on the first page of the document set to show through the window of each envelope, read by either a bar code scanner or a camera and then checked for validity against a database held on the module. Correct envelopes are transported onto the conveyor at the end of the machine, whilst envelopes in which an error is detected are diverted.
The ADF Professional Services team will be able to advise on the best solution to meet the individual requirements of each device.
Pitney Bowes offer three levels of mailpiece integrity:
Direct Connect output scanning with File Based Audit – File Audit is an “entry level” to full File Based Inserting, where the mailpiece is verified against the pre-generated MRDF. It “audits” that the mailpiece was processed but cannot report on what happened to the mailpiece as it was processed on the inserter. Machine, Job and Operator statistics are generated.
Direct Connect output scanning – Provides a simple check that the sequence of mailpieces processed is correct and will stop / divert on a break of sequence. Machine, Job and Operator statistics are generated.
Stand-alone with output scanning – Provides simple output integrity functions but is not Direct Connect enabled – therefore no machine and operator statistics are generated.
